Separating the bathroom work area
Plastic containment separated the bathroom work area from adjacent spaces. The original project photos show the taped barriers and a contained area with air-filtration equipment.
Containment helps limit the movement of dust and particles while material is disturbed. It gives the team a defined work area for removal and cleaning inside the property.
Removing and cleaning affected materials
The work included demolition, cleaning, and encapsulation in the affected areas. Affected bathroom materials were removed, and the remaining surfaces were cleaned before the encapsulation work.
Physical removal and surface cleaning address the contamination itself. The team also handled debris and cleaned the work areas as the remediation progressed.
Including the HVAC components
Hugo cleaned the air-conditioning grilles, ducts, and air handler included in the project. Those components were addressed alongside the bathroom and building-material work.
HVAC surfaces can hold settled particles and provide a pathway between rooms. Including the affected components in the remediation kept that part of the property connected to the wider cleanup.
Wrapping up the work areas
The closing work included equipment pickup, debris hauling, and final cleaning. Those steps completed the cleanup around the contained area, affected construction, and HVAC components involved in the job.
The mold and HVAC cleanup is complete
Hugo completed the remediation work, including the material and HVAC cleaning, debris removal, and final work-area cleanup. The bathroom, affected construction, and air-handling components received attention as parts of one coordinated project.
Questions about this project
Why was the bathroom work area contained?
The plastic barriers separated the work area from nearby spaces and helped limit the movement of dust and particles during removal and cleaning.
Which HVAC components were included?
The project included cleaning of air-conditioning grilles, ducts, and the air handler, alongside the work on affected bathroom and building materials.
What happened after the material-removal work?
The team cleaned the remaining surfaces and completed the encapsulation work included in the project. The closing tasks included equipment pickup, debris hauling, and final cleaning.

A closer look at the project
What mold remediation can involve
Mold remediation focuses on removing contamination and addressing the moisture that allows it to grow. An inspection helps define the affected areas and the work needed. Depending on those findings, the process can include isolating work areas to limit spread, removing materials that cannot be effectively cleaned, and cleaning remaining surfaces with methods such as HEPA vacuuming.
A final evaluation checks the remediated area. Independent post-remediation verification, when part of the project, is a separate assessment.
